Wow, Finally this was the day when I was about to experience the feeling from inside the Statue of Unity.

World’s Tallest – The Tallest Statue Of Unity

The main gate entrance has not much security verification but if you have bags with you, you will need to open it and show them for security verification. If you eat tobacco or cigars or something like that, you will leave them here as it’s not allowed inside to keep the place clean.

Wall of Unity

Once you entered, on the left side you will see the wall made up of the soil collected from 169000 villages of India to made up this wall. The slogan was very interesting that I really loved and it proves it as the Wall of Unity there.

The Soil of the Nation as the Soul of the Nation

Wall of UnityWall of Unity spreads the useful message about the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united all the states of India and made it as one country called India. Good thing I noticed here is the messages on the wall are available in all English, Hindi as well as Gujarati languages, so that everyone even foreign visitors can know the useful information about an iron man of India.

Ticket Verification Gate

Our time slot to visit the viewing gallery of the Statue of Unity was 15th December 2019 from 8 AM to 10 AM in the morning & was already booked online from soutickets.in so we were not in a rush or hurry & we wake up a bit late in the morning.

The Statue of Unity Ticket Online Booking

Above is the ticket copy of our online booking, so when you book an online ticket for visiting the Statue of Unity viewing gallery, it would look like this in the image above.

The helicopter ride was not available when we booked the ticket, according to them it was under maintenance.

One thing we missed was Sunday and so many peoples were standing in a queue for main entry as this is the place where you will need to show the entry ticket. Each ticket has a barcode that needed to scanned at this gate and security verification is done by security persons, this is the line which consumed our 1 hour.Statue of Unity Ticket Verification

Initially, when I saw the statue from the road, I saw it as a small, as soon as we went near to the statue, it surprisingly seems bigger and bigger. It was looking even bigger when I saw the statue from the toe and legs.

Our hotel’s checkout time was 10 AM in the morning but we entered inside after security verification at 10:15 AM. Finally, we passed security verification after an hour and entered into the main way to reach to the Museum & audio/visual gallery.

Reached Statue of Unity

The museum, audio-visual gallery

This is the place where you can view visuals as well as so many documents related to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A short movie about it, feedback counter and the identical small statue is there in the museum gallery.

Museum at the Statue of UnityAn interesting thing about this museum is, it’s exactly located just below the tallest statue in the World and it can withstand the earthquake measuring 6.5 on Richter Scale at a depth of 10 km and within a radius of 12 km of the Statue. I appreciate the built-up and the construction made as it’s the largest, huge and quite bigger than expected.

Just behind this face, you look behind me, there is a feedback counter, where you can type your experience here and also just behind that, you will see a complete identical small statue of Sardar Patel with his documents, historical information, videos, and audio that explain everything about him.

Queue at Lift

Just behind that, there is a big round pillar having a lift inside, that takes you to the chest part(at 45th-floor height). There are mainly 2 queues out of which, 1 queue is for individual persons, while another queue was for groups.

If you bought an express ticket, which is 3x higher than a regular ticket, you will be allowed to enter the lift directly without waiting in a long queue. This is the only difference between the express ticket & general ticket.

Viewing Gallary

Good thing I noticed is it takes only 30-35 seconds to take you from the ground floor to the 45th floor where the chest part of Sardar Patel & from where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery from the viewing gallery.

Statue of Unity Viewing gallary

What to see from the viewing Gallary

The main attraction here is to watch the Sardar Sarovar Dam from the viewing gallery. You can see a beautiful view of the entire Sardar Sarovar Dam from here & this became the biggest reason why Sardar Patel’s statue is facing towards this Dam.

As you can see from the below image, the horizontal line is Sardar Sarovar Dam, which you can see directly from the viewing gallery.

Viewing Gallary - Sardar Sarovar DamIt was a dream of Sardar Patel to build Sardar Sarovar Dam to help farmers with irrigation water and by building Sardar Sarovar Dam, the dream became true. So the tallest statue is facing towards this Dam just to see his dream becoming true.

Just behind me, you can see the part of viewing gallery & the round-shaped element is the button of the Sardar Patel’s cloth.

I met a few of the excited peoples at the Statue of Unity viewing gallery who were eagerly excited to see me with them. Here is the best shot I took with them.

What’s next?

We were inside the tallest statue of the world and now it’s time to see it closely. So just came down in the lift that takes you again to the museum gallery, get out of that and on the left side, you will see a lift that takes you to the upper part of the statue.

Statue of Unity at the BottomYou can see the statue’s foot & toe portion of the leg and it’s quite bigger when you look it from there. Here is me, looking at the bottom part of the statue and imagine how tall the statue will look from that position.
