While posting any post in WordPress, you might have noticed that post page has clickable links. So whenever you click on post page links, it will open same page. It seems it’s of no use, so you can manually remove Hyperlinks from post title page. I have seen on most of the default WordPress theme, post pages have hyperlinks. Another reason, why you should not have hyperlinked post title is that, it might cause crawling problem & indexing problem in search engine.
You can remove hyperlink from your title of post pages in WordPress. All you need to do is go to Appearance > Editor > single.php & you will see php codes there. I will recommend you to copy entire file to notepad and save it on your computer, so that if you do not like any changes or bymistake if you deleted any imp codes, you ca revert back the changes.
On the single.php file, search for the following codes. Your codes may be in h2 or h3 tags depending on your template configuration.
<a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>”><?php the_title(); ?></a>
Now replace the code with following lines.
<?php the_title(); ?>
The href tag in the code stands for the hyperlink in the tittle. If you remove href tag than title will be appear without hyperlink.If you need any help in this regard, feel free to comment below.
