Make background transparent in Photoshop

We have taken an example of lion image which we will use to remove it’s background. You just need an adobe photoshop installed on your computer and an image to remove a background from.

Now follow these simple steps to make transparent background in Adobe Photoshop CS6

Step 1: Open Adobe Photoshop CS6 on your PC or Laptop

Step 2: Now Open “Photo/image“, that you want to make transparent

To open the picture on Photoshop CS6, click on “File” option on the top left side of the screen. Choose “Open” option to open your computer’s storage directory then select image that you want to make background transparent.

Step 3: Go to “Layer” section on the middle right side of the screen. 

Now you need to unlock the locked layer to edit this image. To unlock the layer, you have to double click on “Lock” Icon. Now click on “OK” button in the appeared window.

Step 4: Now select the “Magic Wand Tool” in Photoshop CS6 and set the “Tolerance rate.”

Step 5: Now press and Hold “Shift” key and use the Mouse left Click to select the background area that you want to remove or delete. Take your own time & select correctly.

Step 6: After selecting the “Background Area” press the “Delete” key on the keyboard. This will remove your all selected background layer from your image.

Step 7:  Now click on “File” option on the top left side of the screen then choose “Save As” option to save your edited image in “PNG” format.
